Code of Conduct#
The SciPy India 2026 conference runs under the SciPy India community Code of Conduct, which follows the NumFOCUS Code of Conduct. It applies to both days, to the workshops, and to any social events around the conference.

Reporting during the conference#
There are three ways to report a problem during the conference:
You may talk to a volunteer, who will be wearing a badge that says “Volunteer”. They will help you get in touch with the community organisers.

What happens after a report#
The community organisers read the reports. We will not ask you to repeat the story to a room of people, and we will not tell you to sort it out yourself.
Organisers can ask someone to stop, ask them to leave a session, or remove them from the conference.
We will strive to handle reports confidentially, with care and respect for all parties involved. We will not share the details of a report with anyone who does not need to know them, and we will not share the names of reporters or those reported on without their consent.
If a report involves an organiser, they will recuse themselves from this process.
A report may also be referred to the venue’s security or local law enforcement if it involves a serious threat to safety or is a violation of the law.
After a report is received, the organisers will follow up with the reporter to let them know what action has been taken, and to check on their wellbeing. We will also follow up with the person reported on, if appropriate, to let them know what action has been taken.
Finally, we will practice transparency by publishing a summary of the report and the actions taken, while respecting the privacy of all parties involved. This summary will be shared with the community to help prevent future incidents and to improve our code of conduct and reporting processes.
