Proposal Mentorship Office Hour #1#

If you have been thinking about submitting a proposal to the call for proposals for the SciPy India 2026 Conference, and would like a clearer sense of what makes a strong talk, workshop, or poster idea, join us for our first Proposal Mentorship Office Hour!

This is an open community call hosted by the SciPy India team for prospective speakers seeking guidance before submitting their proposals. Come and discuss your ideas, seek feedback, and brainstorm with us.

Details#

  • Date: 19th September, 2026

  • Time: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM IST

  • Where: Online, via Google Meet. Register on Luma to receive the meeting link.

This session is for anyone considering a submission – whether you are a first-time speaker, still deciding on a topic, or refining a draft you have already started but haven’t submitted yet. If you have been meaning to submit but are not sure where to begin, this is a good place to start!

We are glad to offer advice on what reviewers are looking for, answer questions about scope and abstracts, help with choosing an appropriate format, and share general tips on shaping your idea into a proposal that is compelling for our audience at the conference. Please feel free to ask us anything.

We especially encourage women, first-time speakers, and people from underrepresented and marginalised groups in India and beyond, to attend, seek feedback, and submit their proposals.

Can’t make it? Don’t worry! We will be hosting more of these calls in the coming weeks. You are always welcome to send questions to info@scipy.in or join the chat on Zulip.

Reminder: the CFP closes on 19th October 2026, 23:59 IST. Submit early!

Best wishes! We hope to see you at this call, and at the conference!
